Biography

Monty Normand is the parent of a 7th grader at Discovery Middle School, a 1988 graduate of Jefferson Senior High, and a near lifelong resident of Alexandria. Monty is currently an active member of both the Discovery Middle School Parent Principal Connect and District 206 Superintendent Advisory Councils.

Monty works as the Quality Manager for Voyager Industries where he has been a team member for 11 years.  With 30 years experience in the manufacturing sector as a Quality Manager, Monty knows how to build teams and work across multiple interests to develop processes and procedures that achieve results.

Monty returned to the area with his wife Melissa over 13 years ago. The move back to Alexandria has proven to be positive for their daughter who has experienced many excellent growth opportunities.  

Monty’s daughter inspired him to run for Alexandria School Board. Over the past year she has left her comfort zone and challenged herself with new activities, clubs, and sports.  She has blossomed doing so.  Watching her, Monty concluded that he needed to step up himself and join the School Board to help ensure she would have access to an excellent education.
